Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Rangers, 14 points clear at the top of the Scottish premier division, could welcome back Ally McCoist after an absence of two months for today's visit of Dundee United. Ian Ferguson is almost certain to miss out after suffering a thigh injury in a midweek reserve match.
Celtic, who travel to Motherwell, are likely to continue with the forward combination of Willie Falconer and Pierre Van Hooijdonk. Paul McStay is available after suspension, but could start on the bench. Motherwell will once again field Chris McCart and Dougie Arnott, while Steve Woods is likely to retain his place in goal.
Second-placed Hibernian are without their suspended midfielder, David Farrell, for the home game with Partick, while Steven Tweed plays his last game before starting a ban. Thistle have Roddy Grant available after suspension, while Ian Cameron is back intraining after pulling out of the cup tie at Dundee with stomach pains.
Falkirk have three players suspended, although Joe McLaughlin should be fit to play at home to Hearts, who have Jim Bett doubtful in midfield.
Kilmarnock are at home to Aberdeen, with their midweek cup hero, Steve Maskrey, ready to start as Colin McKee is injured. Willie Miller, the Aberdeen manager, is likely to make changes after his team stuttered to a 1-0 cup win against Stranraer.
