Letter: Blameless

Sir: Re Richard Williams' comments (Monday, 8 November) and Australia's crown lacking jewels. Let's face it, it is not just up to the tournament winner to raise the standard. Don't you think the other teams, apart from the semi-finalists, could use some reality, sweat, self pride and intestinal fortitude to raise their level of achievement? Australia did exactly what they needed to - enough to win.
