Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Ian Jennings, who was instrumental in helping both St Albans and MIM Edinburgh to reach the finals of this year's European Club Championship, returns to the indoor arena in Edinburgh this evening for St Albans for the final stages, writes Bill Colwill.

If all goes to plan, St Albans and MIM should contest Sunday's final. Jennings, however, along with the German Under- 21 international, Hemming Tewes, who is also guesting for St Albans, will by then have returned to England to play for their clubs in the National League - Jennings for Guildford at home to Stourport and Tewes for Oxford University at Beeston.

Slough have completed their line-up for the women's tournament in Germany by picking the 18-year-old England and Great Britain international, Anna Bennett. Slough are drawn in the same group as Edinburgh, who include seven Scottish internationals.

Both teams should reach Sunday's semi-finals, but will be anxious to avoid a match with defending champions and hosts, Russelsheim.
