From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

CANNOCK took advantage of Canterbury being held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Beeston on Saturday, to secure their second National Premier title with a convincing 5-1 win at Guildford yesterday. They also beat Teddington 2-0 on Saturday.
At the bottom, Doncaster made a gallant effort to avoid the drop with Colin Edwards scoring four times but with David Mathews also netting four the Kent side won 8-5. Barford Tigers, Beeston and Hounslow will be fighting it out to avoid the second relegation place.
In Division One Blueharts' 2-2 draw with Chelmsford and Gloucester City's 4-4 draw against Stourport were not enough to save them from the drop following Oxford Hawks' 4-1 win at Sheffield and St Albans' 2-0 win away to Firebrands. They join Warrington back in their regional leagues. Saints live to fight another day and Hawks go into the play-offs.
Tina Cullen, who hobbled off midway through the first half in the second of the two training internationals against Scotland at Lilleshall returned after the interval to score twice as England registered their second success over the Scots. Jane Sixsmith scored the goal which separated the sides on Saturday.
