The 43-year-old held off a raft of challengers on the final day, including the world No2 Dustin Johnson and the Open champion Francesco Molinari, with a serene performance around Augusta National.
He finished his Sunday round on -13, one stroke ahead of three fellow Americans tied on second – Brooks Koepka, Xander Schauffele and Johnson, to add another extraordinary layer to his story of achievements in the game.
