Paul McGinley has named his eight players who will contest the afternoon’s Ryder Cup foursomes, retaining the morning’s dominant pairing of Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.

In the morning’s fourballs, Rose and Stenson powered to a comfortable 5&4 victory over Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson. They will return to the Gleneagles afternoon to face Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson, who missed out on the morning session.

Jamie Donaldson and Lee Westwodd will head out first as they take on Jim Furyk and Matt Kuchar in a group that were all rested for the opening fourballs. With Rose, Stenson, Mahan and Johnson heading out second, McGinley also elected to keep Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia together, but bumped them up the order to face another pair that have already player as partners in Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.

Bringing up the rear is another new pairing for Europe, with Ryder Cup rookie Victor Dubisson and Graeme McDowell facing the tried and tested pairing of Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley.

Friday afternoon foursomes:

13.15 - Jamie Donaldson & Lee Westwood v Jim Furyk & Matt Kuchar

13.30 - Justin Rose & Henrik Stenson v Hunter Mahan & Zach Johnson

13.45 - Rory McIlroy & Sergio Garcia v Rickie Fowler & Jimmy Walker

14.00 - Victor Dubuisson & Graeme McDowell v Phil Mickelson & Keegan Bradley
