From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were in the middle of a promo running down the crowd inside Levi's Stadium, which brought out "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment".
The three proceeded to exchange verbal barbs until McMahon took things up a notch, slapping The Rock square in the face. The Rock opted not to return the favor, instead calling upon the help of UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, who was seated ringside.
McMahon attempted to intimidate the UFC women's bantamweight champion stating: "Get the Hell out of my ring", to which Rousey replied: "Any ring I step into is mine".
The Rock and Rousey deposited Triple H and Stephanie out of the ring, providing a WrestleMania moment that will be remembered for some time, although it seems extremely unlikely that this was anything more than a one-off appearance for Rousey since she's an active UFC fighter.
The Rock and Triple H, however, might not be through. It wouldn't be a surprise to see them cross paths again and set something up for WrestleMania 32.
