Robbie Paul and Tevita Vaikona still do not know whether they will be playing for club or country next week.

The Bradford pair are due to join up with the New Zealand tour party after tonight's final against St Helens. If the Bulls win, however, they are due to play the Kiwis on Friday and international regulations are vague on who has first call on the players' services. Injuries have already reduced the Kiwis' party to 23 and they may yet want two other Bulls, Lesley Vainikolo and Joe Vagana, to join their squad, as well as Paul and Vaikona.

Hull's captain, Jason Smith, will be fit to face New Zealand in their opening match, at The Boulevard on Tuesday. Hull have signed four of their young players – Ian Bell, Glen Donkin, Kirk Yeaman and Richard Horne's brother, Graeme – as full-time professionals.

Castleford's Australian half-back, Mitch Healey, has agreed to put off his retirement and stay with for another season.
