From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Hull KR ran in eight tries to move up to second in Super League with a 44-10 win over Catalan Dragons yesterday but their coach Justin Morgan refused to get carried away. "There are 16 rounds to go, we're not even halfway," he said. "My thoughts are just on improving the little things each week and not looking much beyond that."

Ben Galea and Jake Webster each scored two tries for Rovers and Michael Dobson landed 16 points. Liam Colbon, Scott Murrell and Ben Fisher also touched down.

Warrington smashed Huddersfield 40-18 with Chris Hicks grabbing a hat-trick of tries for the second week in a row to put an end to the Giants' nine-month winning away record.

Hicks, Wolves' 10-try leading scorer, was indebted to the outstanding Chris Bridge, and both he and Vinnie Anderson were singled out by coach Tony Smith, who said: "Both players had their best games since I arrived at the club."
