Racing: Bet on Burton for title
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Mike Smith, who along with his father, Chris, bets as Dick Reynolds at most of the West Country points, considers the ladies' title a "walkover" for Polly Gundry, the winner in 2000, so prices for the ladies' title are on application only. "We've found that business is strong at the points and on a par with racing under Rules," Mike said. "We cater for some big players and £1,000 bets are nothing out of the ordinary."
West Country riders have an advantage as their season extends to the final day, but Richard Burton could be the best value bet at 4-1.
Mens' Championship: 7-4 L Jefford, 2-1 J Pritchard, 4-1 R Burton, 7-1 D Dunsdon, 10-1 G Hanmer, 14-1 A Farrant, 16-1 others.
