Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Rugby League: Greg Eastwood, Leeds' recruit from New Zealand, is out of the Four Nations with a broken wrist. The Kiwi forward fractured his scaphoid in Saturday's win over France. He will return to the southern hemisphere after the tournament and is expected to be back for pre-season training at Leeds. England name their team today, and must decide whether Danny McGuire retains the stand-off jersey. Dave Hadfield

Wie agrees to add 'star value' to Dubai event

golf Michelle Wie is scheduled to make her debut in the Dubai Ladies Masters at the Emirates Golf Club next month. The young Hawaiian, who has had a successful rookie season on the LPGA Tour and made her Solheim Cup debut when the US beat Europe 16-12 in Illinois in August, will be one of the main attractions at the 9-12 December Ladies European Tour event. "Her presence will bring star value to the event," golf in Dubai chief executive Mohamed Juma Buamaim said.
