Hockey: Maddie Hinch’s shoot-out heroics help England win bronze
England won bronze at the Argentina Hockey World League final thanks to a shoot-out victory over the host nation in San Miguel de Tucuman on Sunday.
Goalkeeper Maddie Hinch and defender Sally Walton proved to be England’s match-winners, with the former making two saves in the shoot-out before the latter recovered from scoring an own goal in regulation time to net the winner.
The Netherlands won the tournament thanks to a 5-1 win over Australia.
