Depression in Sport: Gold medallist dies in fall
The French pole-vaulter Pierre Quinon, who won gold at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, has died in an apparent suicide.
Quinon, who was 49 and known to suffer from depression, fell from a window on Wednesday on the Mediterranean island of Hyères.
Two days earlier, the Canadian ice hockey player Rick Rypien, also a sufferer from depression, was found dead.
