From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It is the turn of the men's National League to have this weekend off while the women return to action after their blank week. In the First Division Canterbury and Slough defend their 100 per cent records as the top four teams meet.

Fourth-placed Ipswich travel to the leaders, Canterbury, with Slough visiting Chelmsford.

Ipswich, after a torrid season last year, when they won just one game, have benefited from the return of former England captain Sandie Lister and Nick Thompson as a joint coaching team. With the recruitment of the England goalkeeper Becky Duggan from Woking and Cathy Gilliat-Smith from Chelmsford they now have a formidable squad.

Chelmsford have re-signed Trinadad international Dr Tamara Nancoo from Harleston although she is not expected to play this afternoon. The South African Olympian Natalie Fulton will be in their unchanged side.

Wimbledon and Bradford lead the way in the Second and Third Divisions respectively and look set to preserve their 100 per cent records. Wimbledon make the long trip to Exmouth and Bradford entertain League newcomers Southampton.
