Sheffield Sharks extended their lead at the top of the British Basketball League to six points with a 79–66 win over London Towers at Ponds Forge last night.

The game was a close affair right until the final quarter, when a run of eight unanswered points saw Sheffield move into a 60–50 lead, only for the Towers to hit back.

However another 6–0 burst with the clock running down made the game safe at 71–59 and Chris Finch's side comfortably closed out their 15th league win of the season.

Sharks Jerry Williams led all scorers with 19 points.
