From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A physical, fractious game boiled over in the third quarter after Newcastle stemmed a Birmingham fightback with an 8-0 run to open a 61-65 lead. Flournoy was seen to swing an arm towards the back of his fellow American Harker and both were ejected by officials. Despite a knee injury, Hyatt led Eagles scorers with 19 points, backed by 15 from England international Andrew Sullivan. Jeff Bonds was top scorer with 19 points for Bullets, who have lost their last six games.

Hyatt was still having his damages knee iced last night, but scored 22 points as Newcastle cruised to a less controversial win at Plymouth Raiders, which put Eagles clear in second place behind Scottish Rocks. They followed Thursday's win over Chester Jets with a 96-92 victory over Brighton Bears last night.

Leicester Riders stay third, but lost ground following a 93-66 hammering last night at Sheffield Sharks.
