The match was billed as Lionel Messi against the Germany machine. The machine won but they needed their own little master Mario Gotze to score the only goal of the game, which came in extra-time.
Despite the lack of goals it was an entertaining final. Germany were arguably the better team but Argentina perhaps had the better chances.
