Sweden and Switzerland face off on Tuesday with the prospect on an unlikely quarter-final place and a potential meeting with England.

Sweden were the shock winners of Group F, which saw Germany finish bottom in an enthralling final round of fixtures.

Switzerland on the other hand saw off the challenge of Serbia to make sure they went through behind tournament favourites Brazil.

Switzerland's secret weapon

Breel Embolo. It may be a name fairly new to you, but the 21-year-old is slowly making a big name for himself in Europe. After impressing at Basel he moved to Schalke and the powerful, versatile forward is hoping to stay in Russia for as long as possible.

"The national team and Switzerland mean everything to me," the 21-year-old said in an interview with FIFA.com. "I came to the country from Cameroon when I was five and all my schooling and football education has been here. Switzerland welcomed 'Breel' when he was just 'Breel' and turned him into Breel Embolo.

"I hope I won't be flying back to Switzerland any time soon. We still want to achieve something here in Russia."

Sweden acknowledge their underdog status

Gustav Svensson has hit back at critic's of Sweden's style of play and admitted that Switzerland are the favourites in an interview with FIFA.

"We've had some criticism over not playing thew most entertaining style of football, but we are definitely hard to beat. We fight hard for each other on the team. We're very strong tactically, there are many teams who would prefer not to face us.

"All you have to do is look at the players they have on their team and how they have performed during the World Cup qualifiers and before that. I think they had a 25 game winning streak or something like that, they are ranked number six in the world. They are a very strong team and we certainly feel that we are underdogs for this game."

So Johan Djourou starts for Switzerland...anyone that's voted for them in our poll may now be having second thought...right?

Premier League fans may remember Djourou for a less than convincing spell at Arsenal between 2004 and 2013 but made 144 appearances - not an easy feat for a club with high expectations and money to spend on the very best.

Since that spell he has featured for Hamburg and is currently playing for Antalyaspor  in Turkey and will feature in his thrid World Cup. Despite only making the team due to suspensions, but he does have experience and will be determined to make a mark on this tournament.

After being relegated with Stoke and publicly criticising his teammates it looks unlikely he'll be plying his trade in the Championship next season. Already the hero after scoring that dramatic late winner against Serbia in the group stages, the stage looks to be set for another game changing performance from the 'Alpine Messi'.
