Jose Mourinho last night insisted he was watching Belgium's game against Colombia to check out his own players - with both Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard starting the game. However, the rumour mill suggests the Chelsea manager had an ulterior motive, and that he was actually there to cast his eye over Monaco striker Radamel Falcao - who scored in his side's 2-0 victory. With the Blues stuttering, and Mourinho's current strikers failing to set the world alight, splashing out £60m makes complete sense.

With only Nicklas Bendtner is reserve for Arsenal, it's understandable that Arsene Wenger is seeking some back-up for his main striker Olivier Giroud. But if reports are to be believed, it would seem the Frenchman is going transfer crazy. He has his eye on not one, but four potential targets. They are Karim Benzema of Real Madrid, Javier Hernandez of Manchester United, Edin Dzeko of Manchester City and Salomon Kalou, who now plays Lille.

Sergio Aguero, arguably the best player in the Premier League so far this season, has been linked with a move to Barcelona. According to the Daily Express, the Catalans want him to link up with his Argentina team-mate Lionel Messi.

The arrival of Rene Meulensteen could be good news for Fulham according to the Metro. It would seem the Cottagers could become the home for Manchester United's unwanted players thanks to the Dutchman's links with the Old Trafford outfit. Wilfried Zaha and Anderson could be arriving on loan in January.

Liverpool have discovered that Germany international Dennis Aogo could be available for as little as £2.5m. The problem is, now everyone else knows. Even so, according to the Daily Express, the Reds are lining up an approach for the Hamburg player.
