Premier League transfer round-up: Higuain signs for Chelsea

Tottenham broke a Premier League record as they failed to make a single signing in a season.

However, there was movement out of the club as winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou joined Monaco on loan until the end of the season.

Out-of-favour striker Vincent Janssen, who has not made an appearance since 2017, saw potential moves to Real Betis and Schalke break down and will stay at the club.

Without further ado, off we go.

Adrien Rabiot is said to have turned down a move to Spurs because he wants to join Liverpool instead, according to The Sun.

The 23-year-old's contract is up in the summer.

Could Jarrod Bowen arrive today?

Tottenham have a long-held interest in the Hull City forward and have been linked with a move for him all window long.

The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals in the Championship this season.

Tottenham forward Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is in talks with Monaco over a loan move, according to the Press Association.

The 23-year-old has failed to make an impact at Spurs since joining from Marseille for £9million in the summer of 2016 and looks set to return to his homeland.

He made his first start in two years in Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Crystal Palace, but put in a dismal display which might have convinced boss Mauricio Pochettino to let him go, despite a shortage of attacking players.

Pochettino had previously intimated that Nkoudou, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, was part of his plans in the wake of injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Alli and he set up Harry Winks' last-gasp winner against Fulham 10 days ago.

But Spurs are in talks with the Ligue 1 side, who have recently sacked Thierry Henry and replaced him with former boss Leonardo Jardim, and a deal looks set to get done before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Mauricio Pochettino is not expecting a dramatic final day of the transfer window for Tottenham. Perhaps last night's impressive turnaround against Watford has convinced Daniel Levy that no additions are needed.

“I don’t know anything," Pochettino said yesterday evening. "I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen. I am going to ask for some news.

"I expect that maybe some player is going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad. I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player.”

Tottenham haven't signed a single player over the last two transfer windows.

And they have apparently turned down the chance to sign one again today.

The Sun report that Tottenham were offered Malcom on loan by Barcelona but chose not to pursue a deal.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is having a medical at Monaco ahead of a loan move. That one seems like it could be close to completion, which might please Spurs fans.

The Frenchman hasn't exactly set the world alight since his 2016 move from Marseille.

Tottenham could delay their move for Hull forward Jarrod Bowen until the summer, according to Football.London.

Spurs remain interested in the 22-year-old and have continued to monitor him throughout the January window. But they are now expected to hold off until the summer.

It looks like Vincent Janssen is on his way out at Tottenham. Spurs fans will, no doubt, be in tears upon hearing the news. The Dutchman, who has scored a grand total of two Premier League goals for the club, is set to join Bundesliga side Schalke on loan, according to the Sun.

He had earlier been expected to move to Real Betis, but that fell through, predictably, because of Daniel Levy's stubbornness in negotiations.

Leeds youngster Jack Clarke, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, will not be going anywhere, according to his agent Ian Harte.

The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed for the Championship leaders this season, attracting interest from Spurs. But Harte, responding to a tweet that suggested Clarke could be on his way to Tottenham before the close of the window, wrote: "Jack will be staying at Leeds and wants to get the club back to where it belongs!!!".
