At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference. The agent and brother of Juventus great Alessandro Del Piero has hinted that his sibling could yet earn a new contract with the Turin giants.
The 35-year-old, who recently became Juve’s all-time leading Serie A scorer, is out of contract next summer and has already said that he will leave Italy if a new deal is not forthcoming.
However, Stefano Del Piero told Leggo: “Alessandro is very calm over his contract, which expires in 2011, even though there have been no requests to meet the club.
“We will discuss an extension around January.”
Meanwhile, AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has admitted that he would love to see Del Piero finish his career with the Rossoneri, having spoken to the player after Juve’s 2-1 weekend win in the San Siro.
He told Sky Italia: “I went into the dressing room to congratulate everyone and above all Del Piero. I told him that I know his contract is up and I offered him the chance to come to Milan.
“He is an extraordinary champion. Hopefully he might finish his career at Milan.”
