Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta may have claimed that Paul Pogba will not be leaving the club this month, but the player’s agent has strengthened reports that he will move on to another of Europe’s biggest clubs within a year.

Despite the French midfielder still just 21 year old, he has developed into one of the most talented central midfielders currently performing in Europe, and has attracted the attentions of the likes of Paris St-Germain, Manchester City and Chelsea. His former club Manchester United are also said to be eager for a deal to be agreed that would see him back at Old Trafford, but relations between the two are thought to be irreparable due to his messy exit in 2012.

Despite Marotta’s comments on Monday ending any speculation that the France international could leave during the current transfer window, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has revealed that he could very well leave the club “when the right moment comes”.

Marotta said: “Every European club is watching and has been in contact, but Pogba is an important player and we don’t need to sell him.” But within 24 hours, Raiola’s comments have restarted speculation that Pogba’s future is not as clear cut as it seems despite the midfielder signing a new contract extension just three months ago.

“It’s normal that he might leave in a year,” Raiola said when speaking to Italian television station Mediaset. “He is one of the best eight players in the world and the top European clubs like him.

“We’ve renewed at Juventus and he feels great there, and he is playing very well. Will he leave? It’s up to Juventus, we’ve renewed his contract, we’re happy there but when the right moment comes to leave, we will seize it.

“I always knew how talented he was, but when you bring such a young player to Italy, it’s not easy for him to make an impact immediately.

“He’s grown quicker than even I expected. Pavel Nedved (former Juventus midfielder and current board member) said he is good enough to be considered for the World Player of the Year award.”
