Pep Guardiola and Zinedine Zidane appear set to lock horns in the race to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are desperate to land the Frenchman, 23, while Manchester City's admiration of Pogba is well known.

Diario Sport report that City are ready to pay as much as £75million for Pogba, while also offering him a lucrative contract of around £15million per year - almost £300,000-a-week.

Guardiola, who will leave Bayern Munich for the Etihad in the summer, is said to have already told chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak that Pogba is his top target this summer, although Real Madrid are also keen.

Los Blancos could be heading towards a major reshuffle in the summer, with stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Isco and Toni Kroos among a number of players whose futures are unclear.

Pogba has previously said he would one day like to work for former Barcelona coach Guardiola.
