Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race for Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze, according to reports.

German news outlet TZ have reported that the Gunners are also interested in the 23-year-old, who scored the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup final, and will match any offer from Liverpool.

TZ have also reported that Gotze does not feature in incoming Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti's plans and the club will listen to offers.

It had previously been reported that Liverpool are tabling a £31m bid for the player, as they hope to reunite him with Jurgen Klopp. The pair enjoyed a successful time together at Borussia Dortmund, winning the Bundesliga in 2011 and 2012.

Further reports have claimed that Arsene Wenger will be given £75m to spend this summer, with his team set to have another trophyless season.

Gotze has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern this season, making only eight appearances in the Bundesliga.
