Wayne Rooney will be offered £75million to join former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson in China, according to reports.

The Chinese Super League are desperate to land the Manchester United and England captain and will offer him a three-year deal to become their poster boy, according to the Daily Mail.

The 30-year-old would likely join Shangahi SIPG, where Eriksson is manager, if he accepted the offer.

Rooney would also be given image rights in an attempt to grow the league's global appeal.

Chelsea captain John Terry is another player also said to be interesting the CSL.

Rooney is under contract at Old Trafford until 2019 but he is already said to be thinking about his long-term future.

Major League Soccer is another appealing destination, although they could not offer the same kind of money as China, which works out to around £480,000-a-week.

Rooney will make an announcement on his international future after Euro 2016, a decision that will change his future at club level.

With Rooney currently injured but previously out of form - and United said to be looking at superstar targets - it remains to be seen whether he could be tempted away by a large payday.
