Dominic Solanke’s proposed loan to Crystal Palace has fallen through, reportedly over concerns about the young striker’s fitness.

Solanke is wanted on loan by a number of clubs but Palace led the race, with manager Roy Hodgson confirming their interest at the weekend.

However, after Palace’s 2-0 win at Wolves on Wednesday night, Hodgson revealed that “complications” had led his superiors to pull out of any deal.

“It turns out there are complications, other factors involved in it, and the club decided in the end it was not the right moment for us to be doing it,” he said.

According to BBC Sport, Solanke’s loan fell through due to his lack of match fitness and a recent muscle problem.

Daniel Sturridge could be offered a new Liverpool contract, according to the Daily Mail.

Sturridge has six months remaining on his existing Anfield deal and can now negotiate a pre-contract arrangement with clubs outside England.

Monaco, Milan, Sevilla and Inter are among those named as a potential suitors, but Liverpool are said to be considering whether to off the 29-year-old renewed terms.

Elsewhere, youngster Rafael Camacho is being linked with a loan move to former club Sporting until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old winger could return to his native Portugal on a temporary basis as Liverpool want him to gain more first-team experience.

However, the Liverpool Echo report that a decision on his future will only be made following the forthcoming FA Cup third round tie with Wolves.
