22-year-old Kane scored twice as Spurs powered past Stoke on Monday night, with the 4-0 victory closing the gap to Premier League leaders Leicester to five points with four games remaining. After scoring 31 goals last season, there were fears that Kane was suffering from second-season syndrome at the start of the campaign, only for the striker to find his form and score 24 goals so far this term.
The Evening Standard reports that his form this season has caught the eye of Real and Bayern, and the two European heavyweights have asked to be updated with Kane’s future plans should he wish to move clubs in the near future.
Reports have linked Kane with a move to Real in the past, although any interest in the England international has not transformed into an official bid.
Kane is understood to be happy with life at Spurs and has no desire to leave the club, with their Premier League title challenge heading towards a thrilling finish and their Champions League qualification set to be confirmed next week should they beat West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
Spurs are determined not to lose Kane either, and with Manchester United linked with the striker earlier in the season, plans are already in place at White Hart Lane to offer the top scorer in the Premier League a new contract in the coming months, despite having four years left to run on his the deal he signed 14 months ago.
Real look the more likely of the two clubs interested in Kane to press on with a bid in the summer given Karim Benzema’s uncertain future at the Spanish club. Benzema has been caught up in a blackmail scandal involving his international team-mate Mathieu Valbuena this season, and it has already been confirmed by the French Football Federation that the striker will not feature in the Euro 2016 squad this summer.
Real are set to undergo something of a squad revamp in the summer and Benzema could be one of those offloaded, and with head coach Zinedine Zidane talking up Kane’s talents, it appears the 10-time European Cup winners will be watching the England star closely.
“Kane and [Manchester City forward] Raheem Sterling are two exciting players for England,” said Zidane. “This summer in France will be a real opportunity for the rest of Europe to see how good they are.”
