Your support makes all the difference.Edinson Cavani is at the centre of one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer, and the latest talk over his future has been sparked by some novel sources.
While normally it is self-interested agents stoking up stories in the media, in the case of Cavani it is his mum and dad.
His parents have both spoken publicly in the last 24-hours, divulging information that gives a clue to the Uruguay striker's future.
His mother confirmed that he is a target for Real MAdrid, Manchester City and Chelsea and has held talks with all three clubs.
"Edi is talking to Madrid and City. The Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has spoken to Chelsea but there’s nothing concrete. In 15 or 20 days we’ll know his destination," Berta Gomez told Uruguayan radio.
Despite the interest from the Premier League, his father revealed that given a choice, the 26-year-old would snub a move to England in favour of Real Madrid.
"Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid," Luis Cavani told Futboleros.
"He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through.
"He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli."
He added that representatives from Madrid had already held talks with the player.
"There has been contact with Real Madrid's lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet," he said.
"I hope it happens and that talks take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?"
Cavani has a buy-out clause of £53m and it's understood both Chelsea and Manchester City believe that figure to be too high. The father of last season's Serie A top scorer admits that the fee could become an issue during negotiations.
"It's not just up to Edi," he said.
"They are talking about 65 million euros (£53m) and Napoli won't negotiate for any less."
