Daniel Sturridge's Liverpool future in doubt as Jurgen Klopp considers cashing in on £25m injury prone star - reports

Reds ace could be set for the exit as reports suggest Klopp is growing frustrated with his injury record

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly considering the prospect of selling striker Daniel Sturridge.

The former Manchester City and Chelsea forward has played just 106 minutes of football under the German since he replaced Brendan Rodgers in October.

According to the Daily Mirror, Klopp has grown increasingly frustrated with Sturridge’s fitness problems and is contemplating selling him next summer.

Despite his recent issues, the England man would attract interest from across the continent and the Reds could command a fee in the region of £25m.

Sturridge has scored 44 goals in 72 matches with the Merseyside outfit but has started on just three occasions this term.

"Daniel had some problems, not serious, but could not make a session and we had to wait a day,” Klopp explained.

"It is how a pre-season can be. Some little things happen and we have to handle this. It is not a row of sessions and we say 'Now we are here and go...'

“When he is fit, we will pick him, but at this moment because he didn't have one session with the team he's not available.

"I will pick him when he is ready, I will not hold him back. Because he didn't have one session with the team it was not the usual plan for this week.”
