Ramsey has impressed this season since returning to the centre of midfield following the injury suffered by Santi Cazorla, and the Express claims that Barcelona sent a scout to watch Ramsey during the 3-3 draw with Liverpool last week.
It’s added that Barcelona attempted to sign Ramsey last summer, only to see their advances rejected by Arsene Wenger, with the French manager seeing the likes of Marc Overmars, Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Alexander Hleb and Alex Song snapped up by the Spanish side during his reign at the club.
However, it’s added that Arsenal may be willing to sell Ramsey in the summer should Barcelona meet the £60m asking price, although the player is said to be fully focused on his commitments with Wales at this year’s European Championships.
Having already signed defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny from Basel, Arsenal could continue to strengthen this month with links to Borussia Monchengladbach star Granit Xhaka. The Bundesliga club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has revealed that the club would consider selling the Arsenal target is the right bid came in for the 23-year-old Switzerland international.
Speaking to WDR 2 Radio, Eberl said: "It depends a bit on our own sporting success, it depends on Granit’s own performances and of course it depends on the figures.
"If they reach a certain level, then you could start to get dizzy. There are always situations in which every club would have to make considerations."
Arsenal’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot could be about to take a major hit though after it emerged that Manchester United are also interested in the 20-year-old France youth international.
Rabiot has already asked PSG head coach Laurent Blanc for a loan move this month, something that did not go down well with the former United defender, and while Arsenal are said to be interested in the midfielder a bid is yet to materialise.
Should either Arsenal or United make a permanent move for Rabiot, he is expected to cost around £21.4m, although his decision to leave PSG would be based on whether he could guarantee first-team football at his new club after admitting he is growing frustrated at PSG.
