Paul Gascoigne has hit out at Snoop Dogg and labelled him an “ugly t***” for an online post mocking alcoholism.

The American rapper's post on Instagram featured pictures of the pair when they were each aged 20 and 47, showing the perceived relative effects of alcoholism and cannabis use.

And ‘Gazza’ has now poked fun at Snoop Dogg, calling him an “ugly t***” and comparing his appearance to a dog.

“Morning, Snoop Dogg,” Gascoigne wrote. “Get your lazy a*** out of bed, it’s walkies time. Woof woof, you ugly t***. Love Gazza xxx.”

The former England international had appeared to initially respond to the post on Thursday with a photograph of himself sporting two paper teardrops stuck to his face, writing: “Wow thanks so much [for] your tweets, loved them.

“As you can see a few tears, but honestly I love you’s guys [sic] be good, enjoy the rest of the day, huge hugs from Gazza.”

The picture of the dog posted by Gascoigne was edited to look like the American rapper with two plaits and a chain around its neck.

'Gazza' also mentioned Snoop Dogg's post when replying to his manager.

"Just when U thought it was safe2get out of the water f***ing snoop dog turns up FFS SHANE what's he snooping about for, from GAZZA x."
