From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Andrea Pirlo, Luis Suarez, David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry.

Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique caused a bit of a storm last week when he posted an impressive collection of shirts that he swapped with some of the world's best football players, a few of which are above.

Watford hotshot Troy Deeney has a shirt collection of his own, framed and hung on a wall in his house and it's pretty impressive.

Sean St Ledger, Nathaniel Chalobah, Anthony Gerrard, Fitz Hall, Craig Davies, Theo Robinson - the names roll off the tongue.

The Watford cult hero was fantastic again this season, scoring 21 goals in the Championship to earn Slavisa Jokanovic's side automatic promotion to the Premier League.

It was the third season in a row that Deeney has scored more than 20 goals for the Hornets.

With the club in the Premier League next season he may even be able to add a couple more shirts to his collection...
