Tottenham strolled past already relegated Huddersfield at their new stadium to move back into third in the Premier League table.
With two crucial matches against Manchester City looming large on the horizon, Mauricio Pochettino rested a slew of first-team players but it didn’t take long for his second-string to make an impression.
Victor Wanyama opened the scoring in impressive fashion, tiptoeing around Ben Hamer and then casually rolling the ball into the net.
Three minutes later and Spurs doubled their advantage, when Lucas Moura lashed home a fizzing shot.
And the Brazilian made sure of the win with two goals late on, completing his hat-trick to send Spurs one point ahead of Chelsea and four ahead of Arsenal, who travel to Watford on Monday night.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Moussa Sissoko - 8 A chipped assist for Moura. Busy and effective, and growing into one of Spurs’ more indispensable players. Rightly received a rousing ovation from the home fans when he was substituted.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Fernando Llorente - 7 A solid enough job as the forward-most prong, linking well and troubling aerially. Nearly volleyed in superbly in the second half’s infancy.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Lucas Moura - 9 A firmly-struck half-volley to double Spurs’ lead, and another well-taken second to fully seal things. Completed his hat-trick with a thumping finish.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Ben Hamer - 3 The goalkeeper looked shaky against balls into the box and could perhaps have got a hand to Lucas Moura’s effort, which went beneath his armpit.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Florent Hadergjonaj - 4 Little in the way of noticeable impact in defence or attack. Pushed back on the right of the back five.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Jon Gorenc Stankovic - 6 Should really have scored in the first half, allowed a free run from a corner but an awful shanked volley as he looked to capitalise. However, Stankovic was often the Huddersfield player in the way of shots and heading clear crosses, and deserves credit for his fight.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Terence Kongolo - 5 Some timely interventions, and actually looked one of the better footballers in the Huddersfield team. He has the quality to stay at this level.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Eric Durm - 5 For a player with so many appearances for Dortmund, more should perhaps be expected.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Elias Kachunga - 4 Maybe the quietest of the 22 men who started the game until a brilliant block from Eriksen late on. Started on the right wing but seemed to want to play further infield.

Player ratings: Spurs vs Huddersfield Jonathan Hogg - 5 Battled hard as he always does, and should have recorded an assist with a clipped pass for Steve Mounie.
