Tottenham news: Toby Alderweireld insists mounting criticism of the club is a ‘positive’ sign
Tottenham have amassed 21 points from 10 games to sit fifth in the standings, despite not making any signings in the close season
Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld believes that the criticism directed towards a club that have made their best start to a Premier League season is a clear indication of how much they have improved.
Tottenham have amassed 21 points from 10 games to sit fifth in the standings, despite not making any signings in the close season and enduring frustrating delays in moving into their new 62,000-capacity arena at White Hart Lane.
"It's even more positive that they don't see it as a good start. That's the kind of level we have reached. We are never satisfied, we always try to improve," Alderweireld told Sky Sports.
Tottenham will continue to play home games at Wembley Stadium until the New Year as work continues on critical safety systems at their new venue, and Alderweireld has admitted the team was affected by the delays.
