The England international has been forced to miss his club’s last six matches but Spurs will be boosted by the sight of their star forward back in training.
According to manager Mauricio Pochettino, Kante has begun running alone with the physio as he works to regain his fitness.
“We’re happy with Harry," Pochettino said
"He’s started to run, he’s training alone at the moment working with the physio and sports science but he is positive, we’re positive and it’s good to see him back out on the pitch.”
In his place Spurs have deployed Dutch striker Vincent Janssen and Heung-Min Son to lead the side’s front line.
While Janssen has struggled to find his form – the Dutchman has only found the back of the goal once for the club since signing in the summer transfer window – but Son has more than delivered in Kane’s absence.
The South Korean has bagged five goals in eight appearances in all competitions this term, including a brace in Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Middlesbrough last month.
Prior to his injury, Kane had faced his own struggles in front of goal. Before getting injured against Sunderland, the forward had only found the back of the net once with critics suggesting the 23-year-old was suffering from burn-out.
Kane’s return date remains unclear and for now the player is taking small but significant steps on the road to recovery.
