From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal boast three of the world's richest men among their major shareholders, with Alisher Usmanov, Stan Kroenke and Farhad Moshiri all making Forbes magazine's World's Billionaires list.
The three men have a combined wealth of nearly £15billion, nearly triple the net worth of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who is said to be worth £5.9bn to rank 137th on the list.
Alisher Usmanov, who has attempted in the past to gain more control at the north London club, is ranked 71 on the list, with an estimated net worth of £9.4bn from metal, telecommunications and investments. He owns just a 15 per cent stake in the club, behind American businessman and majority shareholder Stan Kroenke who is No 225 on the list with a net worth of £4.1bn.
Farhad Moshiri, a British-Iranian investor and confidant of Usmanov, also owns a 15 per cent stake in the club and is worth £1.4bn, ranked 894 on the list.
Abramovich, who has spent more than £1bn on Chelsea since taking over in 2003 to take the west London club to pinnacle of European football, is one of 10 individuals (including the Arsenal trio) who appear on the list.
Usmanov is the most wealthy, followed by Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, who is worth £8.8bn and owns a 33 per cent stake in Queen's Park Rangers.
Tottenham owner Joe Lewis, Mike Ashley, Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Stoke City's Denise Coates and John Henry, who owns Liverpool, also appear on the list.
However, the list does not include royal fortunes which means Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour - worth more than £20bn - is not included.
