From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

While Everton have been flying in Europe this season, their continental style of football has failed to translate into winning performances in domestic competition and find themselves languishing in the bottom half of the table.

Papiss Cisse begins the first of his seven-game ban at Goodison Park this Sunday. The Senegalese frontman has scored eleven goals so far this term, and no other Magpie has scored in the last 456 minutes of Premier League action.

KICK OFF: Sunday, 4pm

PAST THREE MEETINGS:

Newcastle (Cisse, Perez, Colback) 3-2 Everton (Kone, Mirallas) Premier League, December 2014

Everton (Lukaku 2, Barkley) 3-2 Newcastle (Cabaye, Remy) Premier League, September 2013

Classic Moment:

Newcastle 2-1 Everton - 2002

Newcastle broke Everton’s resistance with two late goals, including one spectacular 30-yard volley from Alan Shearer, to overturn a one-goal deficit. With six minutes remaining, the Newcastle talisman smashed home a long-range volley before Craig Bellamy squeezed in an 88th minute winner.
