Newcastle remain without a manager following the departure of Alan Pardew.

Whilst Crystal Palace and West Brom managed to fill their vacancies during manager-merry-go-round that fell in the middle of the hectic festive schedule, the Magpies have been slower to react.

With Mike Ashley still on holiday, managing director Lee Charnley and chief scout Graham Carr have been charged with the task of finding Pardew’s successor.

Reports suggest the Magpies are keen on a continental manager, whilst someone who can work with what he will have at his disposal and develop some of the rawer talents at the club are important.
