Manchester United v Liverpool: Brad Jones analysis: the man with the unblemished record at Old Trafford
The keeper has only played one game at Manchester United - but he didn't concede
Brendan Rodgers has caused a stir ahead of the big game at Old Trafford today by dropping his Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet for Brad Jones, the former Middlesbrough goalkeeper.
Perhaps Rodgers is cuter than people give him credit for, however, as Jones has never conceded a goal at Old Trafford.
Admittedly he has only ever played there once - eight years ago, when Middlesbrough held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw.
That, of course, was the season when Chelsea under Mourinho Mk 1 steamrollered their way to their second Premier League title.
Middlesbrough themselves experienced their own flirtation with the limelight - just nine days after Jones kept Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney et al at bay, he was on the bench as Steve McClaren's side were summarily thumped 4-0 by Sevilla in the UEFA Cup Final in Eindhoven.
Still, as omens go struggling Liverpool could do a lot worse than turn to one of the few men in the country with an unblemished record at the Theatre of Dreams.
