Liverpool proved too good for Watford as the Reds swept aside the visitors in style with a 5-0 victory to stay on top of the Premier League.

Two goals by Sadio Mane – including a stunning backheel – put Liverpool in front at half-time, a lead they never relinquished.

Trent Alexander-Arnold had an impressive game surging down the right side, having been dropped for the weekend draw with Manchester United, and picked up three assists, while Virgil van Dijk scored two late headers.

It was a difficult evening for Watford, whose dominant win over Cardiff on the weekend couldn't be backed up with another result – they will have easier days to come.
