From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool will have Simon Mignolet back in goal for their Premier League match against Swansea on Monday night after Brad Jones limped out of the 1-0 victory with Burnley on Boxing Day with a thigh injury.
Jones had only replaced Mignolet earlier in the month after the Belgian was dropped from the first team following a string of below-par performances, and he was far from convincing when he came off the bench in the 15th minute to replace Jones between the sticks.

Brendan Rodgers will also have Fabio Borini back in the squad, although he could choose to stick with his striker-less 3-4-3 formation that features Raheem Sterling as his spearhead in attack.
However, neither Dejan Lovren nor Glen Johnson are fit to return after suffering groin injuries while Jon Flanagan remains a long-term absentee due to a serious knee injury.
Liverpool face Swansea on Monday night knowing a win would see them draw level on points with the Swans and a four-goal victory would be enough for them to leap-frog the Welsh side into eighth-place.
