The Liverpool legender entered into a wager with his Sky Sports colleague over the goalscoring form of the Spurs player, who arrived at White Hart Lane two years ago for just under £17m. The 24-year-old was supposed to be a key component as Tottenham set about remodelling the first team following Gareth Bale's £85m departure for Real Madrid.
And after a disappointing first season in which Paulinho scored just six league goals, Carragher backed the Brazilian to find his scoring boots and hit 15 goals during his second year in north London.
But the Spurs man drew a blank in the top flight last season, scoring just two across all competitions, and Carragher must pay the price.
Neville tweeted: "Jamie Carragher needs to wear a G.Nev united shirt for the day! He's lost a bet that Paulinho wouldn't score 15 PL goals in a season!"
Carragher appears to be doing his best to wriggle out of it...
Paulinho is tipped for a lucrative move to China after struggling in the Premier League.
