From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Liverpool confirmed today that Danny Ings will join the club on a free transfer from Burnley when his contract expires on 1 July, it appears likely that Raheem Sterling will leave the club, however, the winger recently rejecting a £100,000 a week deal.

In keeping with the Reds' summer of austerity - Ings is their second free signing of the summer after James Milner - some crafty Liverpool supporters on Twitter have worked out the way to turn your old Sterling shirt into an Ings one.

Simply cover the STER with some tape, and add an S. That's hoping Ings takes Sterling's No 31 shirt though.

Ings scored 11 goals in the Premier League last season for relegated Burnley. Milner agreed to join Liverpool last week, and will move on a free when his Manchester City contract expires.
