The 23-year-old midfielder will be joining today from Blackburn Rovers, subject to a successful medical. Dunn and his advisor spent much of yesterday afternoon at Birmingham's Wast Hill training ground in talks with the Blues' managing director, Karren Brady, before a deal was finally concluded.
The clubs had been in negotiations over Dunn, who has one England cap, for several weeks, with Birmingham's initial appearance-related offer of around £5m being turned down. Dunn, who played for England in last September's friendly against Portugal, has been at Blackburn since he was a trainee, but turned down a contract extension at Ewood Park in May.
The Paris St Germain president Francis Graille said on Wednesday he had turned down an offer by Manchester United for their Brazilian striker Ronaldinho.
"They have confirmed their interest in Ronaldinho and have made an offer which we turned down," Graille said after a meeting with Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon. "If they want Ronaldinho, they must do better than this. Now they know what to expect from us.".
Sunderland have asked for a tribunal date to determine what compensation they will receive from United for David Bellion. The 20-year-old Frenchman signed a four-year deal at Old Trafford on Tuesday after completing a medical. Bellion was out of contract at the Stadium of Light, but because he is under the age of 23, the Black Cats are entitled to to receive compensation.
It was revealed yesterday that United pulled out all the tricks in their attempt to sign the Cameroonian Eric Djemba-Djemba - with a little help from Mick Hucknall. The United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, flew in the midfielder for his medical yesterday ahead of a £2.5m deal that has been carefully planned. Part of the VIP treatment laid on to impress Djemba-Djemba was a secret meeting between him and United officials in the Simply Red singer's Paris flat.
The Bolton manager Sam Allardyce met Pep Guardiola in Spain last weekend. The midfielder is a free agent after leaving Brescia and missing out on a return to Barcelona.
Allardyce, who finally completed the permanent signing of Florent Laville from Lyon, wants Guardiola to play in the midfield sitting role that Ivan Campo made his own in the latter part of last season when Wanderers pulled away from the threat of relegation.
