From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

By the start of Liverpool's match against Crystal Palace on Monday night they could be sitting down in third place, and the omens do not look good for Brendan Rodgers' side - they have failed to win in their last five Premier League games on a Monday, since a 5-2 victory at Fulham three years ago in May 2011.

Liverpool slipped up in the title race after their 2-0 defeat by Chelsea last weekend, meaning that Manchester City can now win the title if they maintain their superior goal difference and the clubs end the season with the same amount of points. They can both reach a maximum of 86 points.

Liverpool's recent record on Mondays

16 Sept 2013 Swansea 2-2 Liverpool

11 Feb 2013 Liverpool 0-2 West Brom

6 Feb 2012 Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham

26 Dec 2011 Liverpool 1-1 Blackburn

5 Dec 2011 Fulham 1-0 Liverpool

9 May 2011 Fulham 2-5 Liverpool

In total, they have won 45% of their Premier League matches on a Monday, but it could be worse for the club - they have never won a Premier League match on a Thursday.
