From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Captain John Terry became the fourth Chelsea player to make 600 appearances for the club against Liverpool in a match between two pretenders for the Barclays Premier League title at Stamford Bridge.

Only Ron Harris (795), Peter Bonetti (729) and Frank Lampard (633) have played in more Chelsea games than Terry.

David Luiz started in midfield, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Willian and Lampard drafted into a side showing four changes following the Boxing Day defeat of Swansea, with former Reds striker Fernando Torres on the bench.

Luis Suarez, who had 19 goals in 13 Premier League games entering the match and bit Branislav Ivanovic in the most recent match between the sides, was up front for a Liverpool side showing one change from the loss at Manchester City, with Daniel Agger recalled in defence.
