Sergio Aguero is definitely staying at Atletico Madrid this summer, according to determined club president Enrique Cerezo.

The Argentina striker finds himself at the centre of frenzied speculation during every transfer window, with Chelsea and Manchester City in England and AC Milan and Juventus in Italy all reportedly monitoring his availability.

However, Cerezo is hoping to end any transfer speculation before it begins this summer by declaring that the 22-year-old forward will still be at the Vicente Calderon next season.

"Nowadays, players ply their trade where they want to. However, I'm sure that Sergio Aguero wants to play at Atletico Madrid again next season," he declared.

"I don't expect any problems with Aguero. He'll stay with us for at least one more season."

Real Madrid have failed with a 25million euro approach to Palermo for attacking midfielder Javier Pastore.

The Argentina international is wanted at the Santiago Bernabeu by new Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.

However, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has signalled his intention to fight for a player who is currently away on international duty at the World Cup in South Africa.

The 21-year-old starlet joined the Serie A club from Argentinian side Huracan last summer and made 34 appearances during his first season in Italy.

"Real had made a 25million offer but I rejected it," revealed Zamparini.

"I hope Pastore can stay with us for at least two more years.

"In future it will be hard to keep him at Palermo. But for now he is not for sale at any price."
