Chelsea have won just three of their last 11 matches since officially winning the Premier League title with a win against Crystal Palace on 3 May.

Jose Mourinho's team looked decent, without being outstanding, in the first-half against Swansea City on Saturday before Thibaut Courtois' sending off early in the second-half allowed the visitors back into the match; they are also now without a win in six matches since returning from their summer break.

In five pre-season matches - three in the US, the Community Shield and the game with Fiorentina - Chelsea drew twice (then winning on penalties both times) and lost three of the games.

Stretching back to the final three games of last season after the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace the Blues have now won only three of their last 11 matches.

The sequence of results hasn't produced one impressive performance and includes the terrible defeat to West Bromwich Albion; Chelsea even had to come from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1 on the final day of last season.

Two of their wins came in the post-season tour against the Thailand All-Stars and Sydney FC with both matches being won 1-0 with very mixed squads.

Chelsea returned to pre-season much later than their rivals this summer and it showed on the tour of the US, where they were beaten 4-2 by New York Red Bulls before labouring to a draw with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues were much better against Barcelona, but again struggled in the Community Shield and then against Fiorentina, with both matches ending in 1-0 defeats.

Ten of the 11 games, before Sunday, were meaningless but with a trip to Manchester City looming on Sunday, Jose Mourinho will want to act decisively this week to disperse any complacency in his squad.
