From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Manchester United sit clear at the top of the table, the Premier League is theirs - but Sir Alex Ferguson's team have something more to play for for the rest of the season.
With five games of the campaign remaining, United have 81 points and need 15 more to break the record of 95 which was set by Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side in 2004/05. A strong finish to the season will also see them pass their own Premier League era record of 92.
It appears the record is in Ferguson's sights.
"If we get to 96 points I'd be absolutely delighted," said the Manchester United manager. "That would be a fantastic season."
To achieve the record United must win all of their remaining games. With matches against Arsenal and Chelsea still to come, it will be far from easy.
