Data from PhysioRoom.com, which tracks every injury in the Premier League, shows that over the same time period Liverpool have suffered 551 injuries - 338 less.
Whilst in the short-term there are injury concerns, the figures from PhysioRoom.com confirm that there appears to be a long-term issue too. Of the biggest teams in the Premier League, Manchester United have suffered the next highest number of casualties; 791 players have been ruled out at Old Trafford since August 2002, 98 less. Over the 12-year period covered, that works out as 8.16 fewer injuries a season than at Arsenal.
Liverpool have had the least among the top sides with 551 - that's 338 less and 28 less injuries-per-season in comparison to Arsenal.
Local rivals Tottenham have endured 785 injuries during that time, whilst Everton are on 663 and Manchester City 595.
Among the current Arsenal players who spend the most time on the treatment table are Abou Diaby, who according to the study has endured 40 separate injuries. Theo Walcott who has been out since January has had 42.
In a bid to address the problem Arsenal appointed Shad Forsythe, who had worked with Germany’s World Cup-winning squad, as “head of athletic performance enhancement”.
